Phothoma’s donation gets the community into sports

“We are grateful to Phothoma for hearing our pleas and its donation. Now we need to show positive results and beat our counterparts.”

The locals in Maandagshoek (Sehlaku) have no excuses for not participating in sporting activities. The villagers were handed sporting kits by Phothoma Security Services on Friday.

The lucky beneficiaries were Sehlaku Naughty Boys (a soccer team) and Sehlaku Naughty Girls (a netball team).

The company donated netball kits, soccer jerseys, bibs, soccer balls, netball balls, training cones, soccer boots and other equipment.

At the handover, Phothoma’s directors, Thabo Thobejane and Patrick Phoku, commended the volunteers at both clubs for their work among the youth.

They encouraged the boys and girls to work hard to fulfil their dreams.

“Phothoma considers youth development through sport an important focus area and has continued to support various initiatives in sport and education, most notably youth soccer teams and events within the Sehlaku area,” said the directors.

Representing the teams, manager Freddie Boshego applauded the donors for their kindness.

“In Sehlaku, we wish to see the youth develop in sport. We have two sporting codes, netball and
soccer, and we were in need of playing and training kits for our juniors and seniors.

“We are grateful to Phothoma for hearing our pleas and its donation. Now we need to show positive results and beat our counterparts.”
