SDM to move its offices to a suitable new location

SEKHUKHUNE – The long-awaited relocation of the Sekhukhune District Municipality’s offices is no longer over a distant horizon.
The MEC for public works, roads and infrastructure, Namane Masemola, the MEC for the treasury, Seaparo Sekwati, and the MEC for cooperative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs, Basikopo Makamu, as appointed by Premier Chupu Mathabatha, received the community resolution for the allocation of land in the Pedi Mamone Traditional jurisdiction, next to Jane Furse in the Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality on Monday.

“This is where the people of Sekhukhune will in future receive services, without having to travel to Lebowakgomo in the nearby Capricorn district,” said Masemola.
He said the government appreciated the entire community of Bapedi ba Mamone for making such an important decision, which will enable it to move swiftly and redress this decades-long matter.
