Riverside CID and partners bring joy to needy children
The Riverside City Improvement District (CID) collaborated with Childline Mpumalanga for a heart-warming visit to the SOS Children’s Village in KaMagugu on July 17.

This special outreach was organised to create lasting memories and to bring joy to the lives of these wonderful kids who deserve our support and care. Riverside CID representatives, along with partners HL Hall and Sons Properties, Kiaat Hospital, Sorbet Nelspruit, NPE Construction, Green Guru Solutions, Buy Local, Nashua and Emnotweni Casino, took the opportunity to interact with the children, share a light lunch, and make memories to last a lifetime. Through this collaboration they aimed to spread happiness and to honour the late Nelson Mandela with their efforts.
Mandela’s unwavering dedication to the growth and progression of South Africa serves as an inspiration for this outreach. Nelson Mandela International Day, celebrated annually on July 18, encourages individuals and organisations to contribute to their communities and make a positive impact. The joint effort between Riverside CID, Childline Mpumalanga and partners is a testament to the commitment of these organisations to follow in Tata Madiba’s footsteps and create a brighter future for all. “Honouring Nelson Mandela’s legacy is at the heart of this initiative,” said Jessica Prim, marketing co-ordinator of Riverside CID.
We believe in the power of collective action and how it can transform lives. By joining forces with Childline Mpumalanga and our valued partners, we aim to spread joy and support at the SOS Children’s Village, reflecting Mandela’s vision of a united and caring society.
The contributions from HL Hall and Sons Properties, Southern Sun Mbombela, Kiaat Hospital, Sorbet Nelspruit, NPE Construction, Green Guru Solutions, Buy Local, Nashua and Emnotweni Casino were invaluable and played a pivotal role in making the day unforgettable for the children. “We are so thankful for their donations of food, toys, and treats as it enabled us to bring smiles to the children’s faces and also provide them with a sense of love and belonging.”
This outreach embodies the spirit of togetherness, compassion, and progress that Madiba envisioned for South Africa. The Riverside CID, in alignment with its mission to enhance the quality of life in the community, strives to inspire others to join in building a brighter future for the kids and the nation as a whole.
