Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine assisted learners with GBV awareness.

Mandela Day is an internationally recognised day to commemorate the achievements of South Africa’s first president, Nelson Mandela.
This annual event honours his life and legacy, inviting people everywhere to dedicate 67 minutes of their time – representing the 67 years Mandela devoted to public service – to making a positive difference in their communities.

This year’s celebrations focused on themes of social justice, education, and sustainable development, reflecting Mandela’s lifelong values.

Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, in collaboration with the Together We Can Reach Out Forum, participated in 2025.
The campaign targeted the Skhila community, specifically learners at Marifaan Primary and Skhila Secondary schools, due to high rates of gender-based violence and femicide. Its aim was to educate learners on how to report such incidents.
