A dramatic scene unfolded on Main Reef Road on Monday afternoon when a truck was involved in a crash, only to become the target of looters.
Passersby and residents looted a truck after a crash on Main Reef Road in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon.
The accident between a Hyundai half-ton and a truck caused major traffic congestion on the main road.
Traffic in both directions came to a standstill as people stopped to grab groceries from the truck, that seemed to have been on its way from a wholesaler in the area.
The Citizen was on the scene when the looting spree unfolded, and within five minutes, everything on the truck had been stolen.
The driver of the truck was left helpless as he sat and looked on, clearly still disorientated from the crash.
