Toddler killed in Centurion crash

Paramedics found a woman trapped in the back of the car and holding her one-year-old son.

A toddler was killed during an accident on the N14 in Centurion on Wednesday morning.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said a bakkie and a car collided near Eeufees Road in Thaba Tshwane.

“Paramedics found a woman trapped in the back of the car holding her one-year-old son,” said Meiring.

Meiring said the boy was assessed but was unresponsive.

“CPR and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated.”

“Unfortunately, the boy was declared dead on the scene.”

He said the woman and the driver of both the car and the bakkie sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

“The patients were treated for their injuries and taken to Kalafong hospital.”
