Kelly Roland in Jo’burg for one night only

American singer Kelly Roland is heading to South Africa this coming weekend for a VIP performance.

The founding Destiny’s Child member is set to regale fans during a once-off performance in Johannesburg, at Sandton nightclub Sway, which on Tuesday broke the news on Twitter.

The exclusive performance takes place on Friday, 27 September. Roland’s fans also stand to win VIP tickets to meet her in person.

Says Sway’s official website: “To enter this once-in-a-lifetime competition, all you have to do is to recharge for R10 and move to MTN Muziq by dialling *141*4*3#. Yup – it’s as simple as that! And if you’re already an MTN Muziq subscriber, don’t fret! You can enter too! All you have to do is get two of your friends to move to MTN Muziq by dialling *141*4*3# and then you need to SMS their cellphone numbers to 43396 to enter.”

Kelly Roland rose to fame as a member of R&B girl group Destiny’s Child, alongside Beyoncé Knowles and Michelle Williams. The group disbanded in 2005 so the three members could pursue personal goals and solo efforts in earnest. Roland did so with the release of her second solo album, ‘Ms. Kelly’, in 2007, followed by ‘Here I Am’ in 2011. Her debut solo album, ‘Simply Deep’, dropped as early as 2002 though, after she recorded it in three weeks during a Destiny’s Child hiatus. She released her fourth studio album, ‘Talk a Good Game’, in June 2013.
