Ndebele king denies donating land to Bushiri’s church – report

The church even claims that their leader and his wife could now even be considered a prince and princess.

Ndebele king Makhosonke Mabhena II is reportedly “shocked” by reports that he donated land to Shepherd Bushiri’s church, further denying that such a thing ever happened.

This despite having sent “a powerful” 60-person delegation, including princes and princesses, senior traditional leaders and members of the ruling council to Bushiri’s church on Sunday at the Pretoria Showgrounds, according to the church’s website.

The website further reported that Prince Thomas, “who is second in command”, told congregants that King Makhosonke and the Ndebele kingdom recognised Bushiri as one of the princes.

“From today, he shall be called Prince Prophet Bushiri and, not only that; even the mother of ECG, Prophetess Mary Bushiri [will be] Princess Prophetess Mary,” he was quoted as saying.

The website further reported: “Further, the king even allocated a piece of land in his kingdom to [the] church.

“In his words, Prophet Bushiri hailed the King for the gesture and emphasised that the crowning will help him do more in terms of charity.”

However, Daily Sun has reported that the king’s secretary, Mbulalwa Mabhena, said “they” were “shocked” when they heard the reports.

“The king did not donate anything to anyone, so there is no need for him to be talking to the church. The prince will talk to us in his own time,” Mabhena was quoted as saying by Daily Sun.

Bushiri’s lawyer Terrence Baloyi reportedly said he could not comment on the matter.
