Cops investigate kidnapping after domestic worker and toddler go missing

It is alleged the domestic worker took the little boy, went for a walk, but did not return to the family home in Brackendowns.


The Germiston Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit, together with the Brackendowns SAPS in Alberton, are investigating the alleged kidnapping of 13-month-old Eden Laird, Germiston City News reports.Preview (opens in a new window)

The Pink Ladies issued a kidnapped child alert after it is alleged that at about 8.45am on May 2, the domestic worker took Eden, tied him on her back with a light blue blanket and went for a walk, but did not return to the family home in Brackendowns.

He was wearing grey tracksuit pants with pumpkins on the bottom of them, a vest with the words “granny sunshine” written on it, a grey and navy striped jersey and navy and white socks with sail boats on them.

Eden has a small build, grey eyes and blond hair.
