Durban toddler in serious condition after near drowning

A two-and-a-half year old boy is in a serious condition in a Durban Hospital after a near-drowning incident at his house in Devon Grove Bluff, Rescue Care Paramedics said.

Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said a distress call was received on Thursday after the little boy was found in his family pool.

“The boy was in a serious condition and Rescue Care Advanced Life Support Paramedic stabilised the child on scene before rushing him through to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.”

Jamieson said the exact circumstances leading up to the child falling into the pool were unknown. Authorities were on the scene.
