WATCH: High-speed police chase ends with three Rolex Gang members arrested

Heavily armed suspects were said to have been on their way to the Sandton CBD area.


Sandton Chronicle reports that the Johannesburg Flying Squad made strides on Wednesday after acting on intelligence that led to the arrests of three suspected Rolex Gang members after a high-speed chase that ended on the corner of Maxwell Drive and the R55 in Johannesburg.

Sergeant Desmond Subramoney said: “On 7 March at about 1.30pm, three suspects were arrested and two firearms were found [one Uzi and one 9mm Parabellum] at the scene.”

One suspect was still at large. Subramomey confirmed that no suspects or police officers were injured during the pursuit. However, one woman was injured after the suspect’s vehicle slammed into her. She was transported to a hospital.

Sandton Police Station spokesperson Captain Granville Meyer confirmed the incident took place, and that a BMW was hijacked and used by the suspects.

Traffic was heavily affected.
