Schabir Shaik won’t testify in Zuma’s arms deal case
Convicted fraudster Shaik will not be part of the 207 state witnesses the NPA has lined up to testify in former president Zuma’s corruption trial.

This after NPA boss Shaun Abrahams earlier this month announced that Zuma would be prosecuted on 16 charges of corruption, money laundering and racketeering in connection with the controversial arms deal scandal of the late 1990s.
The NPA this week summonsed Zuma to appear in the high court in Durban on April 6.
On the list of 207 witnesses is Durban businessman Vivian Reddy, acting Sars boss Mark Kingon, and former ANC MP and anti-corruption activist Andrew Feinstein.
Many of the charges Zuma faces relate to his dealings with Shaik who was his financial adviser. Shaik was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2005 on similar charges. He appealed but lost and finally went to prison in 2007.
After spending two years behind bars, Shaik was released on medical parole as he was deemed ‘terminally ill’.
