Taxi turf war suspected as body found inside taxi

The police were still combing the area for clues as the taxi can be seen parked on the road.

A body of a man was found inside a minibus taxi in Sybrand Park, Cape Town, on Tuesday morning. The police and forensic and pathology teams were at the scene according to footage that has surfaced on social media.

The police were still combing the area for clues as the taxi can be seen parked on the road.

A TimesLive report suspects the shooting may have been related to the killing of four people, with two others wounded in Hout Bay on Monday.

Last week, another person was gunned down, also in Hout Bay, leading officials to suspect the shootings were a result of turf wars over taxi routes between two rival taxi associations.

The story will be updated as more information becomes available from the police.
