EC man arrested for murder after quarrel at traditional ceremony

The 25-year-old man allegedly drew his knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, before fleeing on foot.


Willowvale police in the Eastern Cape arrested a 25-year-old suspect on Thursday in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old man.

Police Spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said both the suspect and the deceased attended a traditional ceremony when a quarrel broke out in Rhaladiya Location, Chafutweni village.

The suspect allegedly drew his knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, before fleeing on foot.

The 25-year-old man is expected to appear in the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
