Burn calories by walking vigorously

Walk vigorously on a regular basis and get the calories burning.

Most people take a relaxing stroll or walk on the beach or in the park as a great way of relaxing and rewinding after a hard day of work. Others tend to do so over the weekends. Whichever way you choose, consider pumping up your speed and turn that leisurely stroll into a vigorous fitness walk that will help you burn more calories than you can imagine!

Health.com suggests that you “take short, quick steps, keep your torso upright, and pump your arms back and forth (not side to side) in time with your stride.” This will give some of your major calorie burning muscles a good workout! They further suggest that you ’land on your heel and roll through to your toes’ on each stride that you take.

How many calories can vigorous walking burn?

It is estimated that walking vigorously can help you burn up to 170 calories in just 30 minutes.

Experiencing discomfort?

Always stop if you experience any discomfort or pain and remember that the more fit you are, the more comfortable you will feel when exercising.

Consult your doctor

Always remember to consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise regime or making intense changes to your current one – especially if you suffer from any medical conditions and for some reason are required not to place your body or yourself under any form of stress or strain.
