Pretoria North animal shelter flooded

Keeping the water out remains a problem.

Wollies Animal Project in the north of Pretoria is reaching out for help after several kennels were flooded on Friday morning, Pretoria North Rekord reports.

The shelter for abandoned animals resorted to social media to ask for assistance and soon received promises of donations and help.

Wollies owner Cilla Trexler said people also offered to help clean and dry blankets to keep the animals warm, but keeping the water out remained a problem.

“We need sails and other means to keep the rain out of the kennels,” said Trexler.

She also called on people to help provide temporary homes for puppies from the shelter.

“As always, we are very grateful for the rain as our country is in desperate need of water,” said Trexler.

“We are thankful too for all the caring people who offered their help and continue to support us and the animals we care for.”
