Father demands answers about daughter’s death
The man said that his daughter had a history of epilepsy and was suicidal.
A Johannesburg father wants to get closure about the death of his 22-year-old daughter, and has opened an inquest docket at the Richards Bay police station, Zululand Observer reports.

But he is convinced that his daughter was either killed or committed suicide after receiving contradictory statements from her mother.
“On 23 December I was shocked to receive a WhatsApp message from a neighbour informing me of my daughter’s death.
“I called her mother to confirm this, but she told me that my daughter passed away only 20 minutes earlier.”
He said he travelled to Richards Bay on 26 December to meet with the mother.
“I was told my daughter had an epileptic fit at 4am, but the time of death kept on changing and that was why I found it hard to believe the mother’s story.
“A funeral service operator told me that my daughter passed away at 5am and when I requested an autopsy report, I was told that the mother insisted they should not conduct one.”
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed that an inquest docket had been opened at the Richards Bay police station, and is under investigation.
