More rainfall in Gauteng expected today

The rainfall that started pouring down on Tuesday afternoon is expected to continue on Wednesday in Gauteng and other parts of the country, the South African Weather Services said.
Speaking to The Citizen on Wednesday morning, forecaster Dipuo Tawana said there was a 60% chance of showers on the cards today.
“Indications are that while it will be opening up a bit in the northern parts, the southern parts and central parts, which includes Johannesburg and Vereeniging, are expected to remain cloudy for the better part of the day.
“Although there was some drizzles in the morning, the actual rainfall can be expected any time from 2pm on Wednesday,” Tawana said.
No warning or alert has been issued so far for Gauteng.
In KwaZulu-Natal, residents can also expect a 60% chance of showers and a watch has already been issued for a possibility of localised flooding.
The province in question recorded heavy falls on Tuesday night, and according to Tawana, some places had more than 50mm of rain.
In North West, residents in areas such as Rustenburg and Lehurutshe can also expect a 60% chance of rainfall on Wednesday, and it will be isolated in other parts.
Meanwhile residents in the central and eastern parts of Limpopo as well as Mpumalanga can also expect a 60% chance of showers on Wednesday.
