WATCH: Agang leader mistakenly tells crowd to vote for ANC during election manifesto

This is probably the only part about the party's election manifesto that was widely shared.

Agang launched its election manifesto in Atteridgeville on Saturday and made a few promises to voters. Among other things, party leader Andries Tlouamma promised voters clean water, sanitation, and social grant increase. He further criticised the ANC for failing to deliver people from their past social injustices.

He said: “We had a good period of Nelson Mandela, we had a zigzag period of Thabo Mbeki, we had the worst period of Jacob Zuma. Now after apartheid since 1994, we had thieves in the ANC. We must remove the ANC to protect our future. Agang will show you ways to fix South Africa.”

He went on to talk about the ANC so much that he found himself mistakenly telling Agang voters to vote for the ruling party.

He said: “Repeat after me: No more ANC! Go to the graveyard, ANC! You are a dead man living, ANC! We must make sure we make the right choice on May 8 and vote for ANC!”

ANC head of elections Fikile Mbalula laughed at the man and called him a “clown”.

“When you give yourself one job, and even that is a tall ask of yourself! What a clown,” he said.
