‘You’re drunk on Klipdrift and Coke,’ Malema tells AfriForum’s Kallie Kriel
Kriel's attempt at 'refreshing' Malema's memory was met with a stinging clapback and now Twitter says he should have just kept quiet.

Afrikaner lobby group AfriForum’s Kallie Kriel took to social media to “refresh” Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema’s memory after he said he could not afford to pay back the legal costs as ordered by the courts.
Malema was responding to reports saying he had paid AfriForum more than R100,000 for legal costs, calling them lies as he could not afford it, even if he wanted to pay.
“I can’t afford even if I wanted to pay, stop lying,” he said.

But Kriel said the EFF leader clearly needed someone to “refresh” his memory, further posting proof of payments made to his organisation.

Kriel further thanked the EFF leader and his party for the payment and said his organisation hoped Malema did not use VBS money to pay the legal costs.
“Thank you for the payment @Julius_S_Malema and @EFFSouthAfrica. @afriforum can only hope that you didn’t use VBS money to pay us. Unlike you and the #EFF, we don’t take money from the poor.”
But the EFF leader said in Sepedi that Kriel was drunk on Klipdrift (brandy) and Coke (Coca-Cola) when he made the statement on Twitter. The drink is stereotypically associated with Afrikaner men.

The EFF leader previously denied any links to VBS Bank following DA MP Ghaleb Cachalia allegation that Malema was a 47% shareholder of Dyambeu Investments, which is owned by Venda king Khosikhulu Toni Mphephu under Vele Investments.
In a statement, the EFF denied the allegations.
“The EFF CIC has been accused by agents of mass deception that he owns 47% of Dyambeu Investments linked to VBS Mutual Bank. One of these agents was the gullible DA MP Ghaleb Cachalia who made such allegations on the social media platform, specifically Twitter.
“Upon a letter threatening to take legal action against his defamatory, false, and deceptive allegations, Ghaleb Cachalia withdrew his allegations which were posted as fact,” it said.
The party further posted a letter of apology from the DA MP.
