The vehicle is equipped with a hydraulic platform, a secure rescue cage for evacuations, and a high-capacity water delivery system that allows firefighters to combat fires from elevated positions with precision.
Among the dignitaries present at the unveiling were eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba and eThekwini Deputy Mayor Zandile Myeni.
“The unveiling is about reinforcing our promise to protect the people of eThekwini. This high-tech Aerial Ladder Platform equips our firefighters with the ability to reach further, respond faster, and save more lives, particularly in communities where the risks are greatest,” Myeni explained.
“The safety of our residents remains our top priority. We will continue investing in modern infrastructure, advanced technology, and the development of our firefighters to ensure that we are always prepared to respond effectively in times of crisis,” she said.
