Sitting upon this endless journey of the ‘Tech World’, I wonder if we, as humans, will ever be able to be comfortable with what we have.
Will we ever come to a point of stopping the unthinkable. Well, utterly, I say no. Just a few years ago, I remember that SMSing was a big thing. Now my 7-year-old nephew sends e-mails. This is the world we live in; either join the ride or get left behind.
What I can say is that we really need it. Things like Wi-Fi and the Internet are a part of our daily lives. I mean, even the normal DVD discs we got with our equipment are no more; we have to download it. Download… a word we use now more than ‘Love’. The Tech World is taking over, Google is the new Encyclopaedia, and Megabytes our bread and milk.
What I can stress to you as a consumer is that it’s only going to get a lot worse. Remember, not everything you buy now is future-proof. The most expensive computer you buy today is worth nothing tomorrow, Just do research and speak to knowledgeable people. The Internet is there to help, but most of the time, it’s very deceptive. I’m one who loves the ‘touch feel’ process before I buy something and I like to deal with a physical person who can help me with a problem.
Shopping online is a big hit now, and it’s our future, I know that, but how much more lazier are we going to get? And the worst part is an automated voice prompt trying to help us with a broken product. Or sending an e-mail to a company and we don’t know if it’s real place. That’s what we have to deal with until our infrastructure blossoms. I say educate yourself and turn that leaf. This is the now, this is the future. How much can you take? Up to you, how much is “too much”? Let me know when you figure that out.
