The American pianist, Susan Yondt, will be playing at the NWU Conservatory on 5 March.
Susan Yondt has been living in Sweden since the age of twenty-four. Susan was born in Buffalo, New York, USA and began her piano studies at seven years of age. In her teens, she studied with concert pianist/teacher Frieda Manes. Her degrees include the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she studied with piano professor Stephen Manes; and the Master of Music (cum laude), from the University of Louisville, Kentucky, under the tutelage of piano professor Lee Luvisi.
Susan Yondt teaches piano at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and is touring this year with several programs, Ladies first, featuring women composers, and also The Remarkable Amy Beach. She frequently performs chamber music and has played various programs on European radio and television. For her solo concert in Potchefstroom, she will present works by female composers from different continents and periods.
