Potch Underwater Hockey players bring back medals from Junior Nationals

The u.16 boys won the gold medal with the u.16 girls taking the silver medal. 

The Potch Sub Aqua Underwater Hockey u.16 girls and boys showed their class at the SA Junior National Underwater Hockey Championships in Cape Town (Somerset-West) this past weekend from 21-23 March.

The u.16 boys won the gold medal with the u.16 girls taking the silver medal. The u.19 men’s and u.19 women’s team also competed at these championships both ending in fifth places respectively.

The u.16 teams (girls and boys) won silver and gold respectively. Front is Aiden de Witt, Christian Hoeksema, Caleb Wingrove, Leane Hill, Barnabas van der Walt.

The Potch Sub Aqua Underwater Hockey Club represented North West during the championships.

Head coach, Pamela Mackor, was also presented with the Junior Nationals Coach of the Year award.

The u.19 and u.24 SA hockey players of this club will also now shift their focus to the Underwater Hockey Age Group World Championship which will be held in July in Malaysia this year.
