Talent at dance competition stuns the crowd

The competition had two categories. One for primary school children and one for high school children.

In honour of World Children’s Month, McDonald’s Potchefstroom held a dance competition to bring the community closer together. The competition took place on November 23 at McDonald’s on Govan Mbeki Avenue.

Portia Nonda, the new owner of McDonald’s, who excitedly bought the fast-food restaurant in July, says the dance competition is their attempt to reconnect with the community.

“We want to build a relationship with the community. We want to bring fun back into our community. Going into the Festive season, we thought what better way to do that than to host a dance competition.”

The competition had two categories. One for primary school children and one for high school children.

In both categories the first prize was a R750 McDonald’s voucher, second place was a R500 McDonald’s voucher and third place was a R350 McDonald’s voucher.

Danelle van Wyk, Mildred Davidson, and Jolíze Jansen were the judges who ultimately chose the winners.

Mosireletsi Pheto took first place in the primary school category. In second place was Mpho Modise, Boy Ndzeke and Mdifi Ndzeke. Third place was snatched up by Mpho Ndlovu and Tshoofeb Coena.

In first place in the high school category were Zanija Marias and Nina Marias. Second place was given to Ben Sere and third place was awarded to Thapelo Moshe.
