Potch DJ nominated for Best Amapiano Single
Tshepiso ended up leaving the industry in 2018 but returned in 2022 after completing his matric.
Tshepiso Mogorosi (22), best known by his stage name, Ta Lokii, has been nominated for the Best Amapiano Single at the Mzansi Arts and Media Awards.
He was a former student at Ditaelong Primary School and Boitshoko High School and started his music career in 2016 in Grade 7.
“That is where my relationship with Amogelang Sello, known as DJ King Amo SA, started. I started deejaying using an app called Cross DJ on my tablet because in our neighbourhood there was no DJ equipment. I started deejaying on the app from home during family braai’s or when friends visited,” he said.
Tshepiso ended up leaving the industry in 2018 but returned in 2022 after completing his matric.
“I was introduced to music production by DJ King Amo SA, who I’m working with now. We made our first single titled Sgija Sa Potch in 2022. Then in 2023, we released the New Born Of Sgija E.P (5 tracks) and in 2024 we released the Show Them Flames EP (4 tracks),” he said proudly.
Tshepiso needs help getting to the awards ceremony that will be taking place on April 26 at Bedrock Valley in Hammanskraal, Pretoria.
If you want to help him make his dream come true to attend the event, you can contact him on WhatsApp on 078 627 4039, or call 065 669 5656, or email tshepisomogorosi22@gmail.com.
