In a shining moment for both her community and the nation, Lilla-Ann Adams, a rising star in the modelling world from Potchefstroom, was honoured at the prestigious Women of South Africa Imbokodo Awards, held in Gauteng on August 9.

The event, a celebration of women’s contributions to society, recognised extraordinary women from various fields, and Lilla-Ann’s remarkable humanitarian work earned her the award for Community Development and Social Development.

The Women of South Africa Imbokodo Awards, symbolising strength, courage, and leadership, honour women across categories such as Business, Education, Healthcare, Arts, and Community Development. The event, which coincided with South Africa’s National Women’s Day, emphasises the impactful contributions of women like Lilla-Ann, who embodies the spirit of Imbokodo, a term meaning strength like a rock.

Lilla-Ann’s award is a testament to her tireless commitment to social causes, especially her impactful humanitarian work in Marikana Promosa. Her dedication to uplifting her community aligns perfectly with the ethos of the Imbokodo Awards, which recognise women who serve as pillars of strength and support within their communities.

In addition to her social contributions, Lilla-Ann has made significant strides in the modelling industry. Starting her journey at JannyDjan Academy just two years ago, she quickly rose to become an elite model under JannyDjan Models. Over time, she has participated in several high-profile activities, such as Kryolan Potchefstroom and Matlosana Mall-Klerksdorp, to name a few. Her hard work and dedication were acknowledged when she was crowned Face of Potchefstroom Runway Model of the Year for 2023/2024.

In 2024, Lilla-Ann expanded her reach beyond the fashion industry when she worked with Martial Arts South Africa under the Women in Martial Arts and Self-Defence Association. During this partnership, she had the honour of presenting medals to the winners of a major competition, further solidifying her role as a positive influence and role model.
