The churches, known as His People, of which there are more or less thirty spread out across Southern Africa, will soon change their name to Every Nation.
The His People churches of Southern Africa, which have formed part of the international Every Nation movement for many years, have decided upon this name change in order to better represent their passion and heart’s belief that God loves every nation, every tribe and every tongue. They believe that it is a new season and that change is desperately needed in light of our current political atmosphere. The name Every Nation sends out a powerful message of unity and acceptance, especially to the university campuses, which form a major part of their focus.
The decision was made to change their name to Every Nation from January 2017. Every Nation is a worldwide ministry that exists to honour God by establishing Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible churches and campus ministries in every nation.
The local vision, values and leadership of these churches will remain the same as it currently is, with only their names changing. The churches who will be changing their names are those in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp, Parys, Durban, Grahamstown, Polokwane, Mafikeng, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Swaziland.
It is an exciting time for these churches as they believe that their new name will declare that God has a heart for every tribe, tongue and nation.
