NWU geared for Daredevil Run

The North-West University will be hosting a 5-kilometre Hollard Daredevil run on campus from 12:00 on Friday, 30 September to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.

South African men of all age groups will wear their special speedos for a 5-kilometre run this Friday, 30 September, to raise awareness for testicular cancer during the annual Hollard Daredevil Run.

In Potch, this is no exception, with the North-West University hosting a 5-kilometre run on campus from midday.

The NWU Director of Sport, Sheldon Rostron, emphasised the importance of creating awareness through sport.

“The reality is that sport continues to be an enabler to create awareness around various campaigns. The Daredevil Run is a way to create awareness around prostate cancer.

“For NWU Sport, the Daredevil Run is an opportunity to promote health through sport and activities.

“It adds value to the university and the community,” added Rostron.

“We continue to look at awareness campaigns like this to collectively collaborate with other departments in providing opportunities for students, staff and stakeholders to engage with us and run initiatives like this in the future,” he said.
