BRICS roadshow looks at economic opportunities in North West

The aim of the event was to forge partnerships for accelerated growth, showcase African diversity, and empower businesses, especially as South Africa is the chair of the 15th BRICS Summit.

The J.B. Marks Municipality in conjunction with the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality hosted the annual BRICS Roadshow and Sawubona Afrika Trade and Investment Conference from 26-30 June where key stakeholders discussed various opportunities for accelerated growth in North West.

A Trade & Investment Conference, Theatre Show, Exhibitions, Gala Dinner, Industrial Tour, Indigenous Games as well as Music Extravaganza formed part of the week’s proceedings.

Various dignitaries such as Sous Sherpa Ben Joubert, Department of International Relations and Cooperation, and North West MEC Tsotso Virginia Tlhapi for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, was present at the event.

The aim of the event was to forge partnerships for accelerated growth, showcase African diversity, and empower businesses, especially as South Africa is the chair of the 15th BRICS Summit.

This all forms part of the lead-up to the BRICS 2023 summit which will take place in August in Sandton, Johannesburg from 22 to 24 August 2023.

Sawubona Afrika, is part of Africa Month’s celebrations, which aims to promote economic development, cultural diversity, and unity. It provides a platform for networking, business opportunities, and inter-African trade.
