For decades, he stood as a pillar within the Department of Music at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education (PUK), where he nurtured the talents of countless students in the art of piano and organ mastery. Coetzee, one of the esteemed Coetzee brothers who dedicated their lives to serving the PUK, leaves behind a legacy of unparalleled dedication and passion for music. His elder brother, Professor P.J. Coetzee, adorned the Faculty of Theology, while his other brother, Professor Hannes Coetzee, graced academia with his expertise in Latin. His sister, mother to the esteemed former registrar, Professor C.F.C. van der Watt, shared in the family’s commitment to education and excellence.
