The JB Marks Local Municipality has announced the launch of a phased programme to install electricity split pre-paid meters across the Ventersdorp Region, starting, August 18, at 08:00.

The rollout will begin with the homes of municipal councillors, followed by municipal employees, before being extended to the general public. In addition to residential areas, inspections and installations will also be conducted at local businesses, including taverns.

According to Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson,  the initiative forms part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to improve service delivery and encourage responsible energy consumption. The programme will be spearheaded by the Municipal Executive in collaboration with relevant officials.

“We value the cooperation of all stakeholders. This is a key step in upgrading infrastructure and ensuring more efficient energy management for our community,” Tshite said.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for inspections and installations, and to work closely with the installation teams to ensure a smooth process.
