Community rallies behind girl (11) who survived N12-Fochville accident
Potchefstroom First Responders and Chaplain Sally Nelson have started a project to support the 11-year-old with basic necessities. She is currently recovering in hospital from severe injuries.
The 11-year-old survivor of the N12/Fochville accident that occurred on June 14 is currently hospitalised in Krugersdorp with severe injuries and is in need of the community’s support.
Letho* sustained injuries to her knee, leg and wrist and is expected to remain in hospital for six to eight weeks. She will require surgery to help heal her injuries.
She also suffered the devastating loss of several family members in the accident, including her mother. Letho is currently receiving counselling from social workers.
Potchefstroom First Responders and Chaplain Sally Nelson have started a project to support Letho with basic necessities and are appealing to the community to help bring hope to this young girl and her family.
Letho lost all her belongings in the accident, leaving her without essential items for her extended hospital stay.
Items Letho requires:
• Clothing: Sizes 13-14 and 14-15, including daywear and sleepwear
• Shoes: Size 6 or 7, as well as slippers and socks
• Basic toiletries such as toothpaste, a toothbrush, soap, lotion, toilet paper, sanitary towels and other personal care items
• Underwear: Size small
• Non-perishable food and snacks
• Other items such as Bibles, storybooks and magazines to help Letho feel loved and supported
