It takes hours of dedication, hard work and self-confidence in order to become a South African champion in the fitness world. These are exactly the traits of NWU Pukke student, Carmen Botha, who has her eyes set on world glory after capturing the SA title at the Weider Nutrition IFBB SA Championships at Sandton Convention Centre earlier this month.
The blonde-haired beauty starred in the Bikini Fitness category and stunned one and all with her presence and sculpted body on stage. Botha oozed confidence and took home the title – not a bad achievement at the relatively young age of 22.
She also won the overall category title to add to her impressive collection on the day, and now also has her Protea colours to prove her worth. “It was an unforgettable and humbling experience. I am so excited,” she proclaimed.
Carmen will now look towards making a statement at the IFBB Ladies World Championships in Budapest Hungary from 13-16 November 2015. Financial constraints are one obstacle that she will first have to overcome and she is desperately seeking funds to make her dreams a reality.
Fortunately, Carmen only has to pay her entry fees for the competition as the IFBB will cover her accommodation, flight and meals. On top of that, she will hope to obtain her pro-card when she competes at the Amateur Olimpia Showdown from 4-6 December.
She will also need funding to compete in this major event. “I need all the help I can get to raise funds. I need a miracle to happen,” she stated on her Facebook page.
