Jomo Cosmos wants to show Sundowns how to ‘Samba’ this weekend as the Brazilians make their way to Olën Park this Sunday, 27 September for a crucial league clash.  Cosmos has had a great following from Potchefstroom since the team announced its arrival this PSL season, and their fans will be in ecstasy if they can pull off a win against Sundowns.   A vast number of Sundowns supporters will also make their way to the stadium to cheer on their team – expect a colourful festival of vuvuzelas, flags and singing.

The pitch will certainly be filled with colourful and entertaining football if one takes a peek at the talent on show in this Absa Premiership encounter. Cosmos’ Peintjie Zulu and Sundowns’ Teko Modise are in for a big battle while Tebogo Langerman will provide stern defence for Cosmos’ Denver Mukamba. Cuthbert Mlaijila will also be a danger man for Sundowns up front.

The last time these two teams played against each other, the match ended in a goalless draw. This was in 2012, the last time that Cosmos played in the Absa Premiership.   Things have changed significantly since then, with Cosmos having gained new-found confidence this season, despite them still searching for their first win.   Sundowns and Cosmos have faced each other in 13 encounters, with Cosmos winning three and drawing the same number of matches.

Cosmos’ coach, Jomo Sono, hopes that they can capitalise on Sundowns’ uncharacteristically poor form at the start of this season.
