The annual PMSC Inter-unit Sports Day was held on Wednesday, 21 October 2015.
This event is where the various military units in Potchefstroom compete against each other in several sports codes.

The day started off with around 1 000 members from the various units gathering on the pavilion of the PMSC Johan Du Randt Stadium. They were welcomed by Major Pierre Hamman, sports organiser of PMSC, whilst Chaplain Matsaneng encouraged them with words of wisdom focusing on the activities of the day.
The games started off with a 10km walk race. The walking rules state that teams, consisting of 3 men and 1 woman, should finish together. The winning team was from the School of Artillery and made the crowds proud by scoring 13 points for their unit.

It was a long struggle for the various volleyball teams as they battled against each other to emerge victorious. In the end, it was the team from AMHU NW that triumphed, walking away with 13 points.
The bowls teams also battled it out in the scorching sun and it was the School of Tactical Intelligence that proudly walked away with 13 points in their pocket and the ASB freshwater angling team ensured that their unit was also on the map with 13 points.

It was in a very tense atmosphere that the blackball pool groups competed against each other. It was almost as if the members were too scared to breathe, thinking that their breathing would cause the ball to go into the wrong direction or that the wrong ball would hit the hole. Sighs of relief and laughter from the players and the spectators echoed throughout the hall when one player conquered the battle. In the end, it was the School of Artillery team that walked away in complete victory with a total score of 13 points for their unit.

The golf teams sweated it out on the Potchefstroom Country Club course and, again, it was the ASB golf team that scored 13 points for their unit.
The blazing sun scorched the soccer teams as the battled against each other to score points for their units. This was one of the toughest battles of the day, especially when the gunners ended up competing against each other for the final 13 points.

Sad to say, 4 Artillery Regiment had to take a bow as the School of Artillery scored in the finals, leading 1-0, and that was the end of the battle.
The School of Artillery members attended the sports day in numbers to participate and support their teams. Their great motivation was when the officer commanding, Col. DBJ Schoonwinkel, visited each and every sports code to give them support and encouragement during the day.

As the day progressed, the results came in for consolidation and the School of Artillery claimed the first position in soccer, walking and blackball pool. The unit ranked second and third for the rest of the sporting codes.
The School of Artillery claimed victory by being the overall winner for the Inter-unit sports day with a total score of 77 points, followed by ASB with 76 points, and 4 Artillery Regiment in the 3rd place with 56 points.
