A fantastic 167 run partnership between Stephen Cook and Aiden Markram has been the major highlight on the opening day for SA A as they take on India A in the second unofficial test at Senwes Park.
On a breezy day in Potchefstroom, SA A decided to bat first and get runs on the board. Cook top scored with 99 before he lost his wicket agonisingly short of a deserved century just before tea. Markram also solidified his credentials as a possible Protea test opener with 75 (145) that included 6 fours and 1 six.
At tea SA A were 176/2 with Omphile Ramela and David Miller at the crease. India’s best bowlers thus far has been their spinners, Shabaaz Nadeem (1/68) and Krishnappa Gowtham (1/40).
