Pool South Africa hosted its annual National 8-Ball Pool Championships for juniors, u.18, u.23 and opens categories in Margate KZN from 29 September to 14 October 2017.
Players in each category contested in singles, doubles and team events and teams from all over the country participated. This year again saw the best of the best in the Cuesport competing for the honours.
North West Province entered one u.18 team, two u.23 teams and another two open teams (1 in the A division and 1 in the B division). The junior teams consisted of 5 players and the open teams, 9. North West Pool Association is extremely proud of all the players who represented the province and valiantly gave their best at all times.
Both Kobus Delport and Francois van der Merwe are looking forward to representing South Africa in their respective divisions at the 2018 World Eightball Pool Federation (WEPF) World Championships in Blackpool, England in June 2018.

Kagiso Menyatso – Potchefstroom – Top 10 team event, u. 23.
Kagiso Menyatso and Sarel Esterhuizen – semi-finalists, doubles u. 23.
Francois van der Merwe – Lichtenburg – reserve for PSA national juniors’ u. 18 side.
Opens achievements:
Kobus Delport – Potchefstroom – best performer, A division.
Sylvester Jacobs – Alabama – Top 16 singles division.
Kobus Delport and Sylvester Jacobs – semi-finalists, doubles division.
Kobus Delport – Travelling reserve for PSA national open side.
