Pakistan put Proteas women in a spin at Senwes Park

The Proteas women were skittled out for a paltry 63 in an 8 wicket loss against the vistors.

The Proteas Women’s cricket team had a terrible start to their ODI series against Pakistan in Potchefstroom today when they were skittled out for only 63 in an 8 wicket loss against the vistors. This was their second lowest ODI score in history.

Pakistan spinner, Sana Mir (4/11) bamboozled the SA ladies as they never recovered from 35/5 with all their top guns back in the shed. Chloe Tryon (21) was the highest scorer for the Proteas.

In reply, Pakistan cruised to victory in 14.4 overs with Javeria Khan taking them to victory with an unbeaten 34 (43)

It was a tough loss for the Proteas and especially, Marizanne Kapp, who played in her 100th ODI game at Senwes Park. At least she ended with respectable bowling figures of 1/19.

The Proteas next play the second ODI at Senwes Park on Thursday, 9 May and will look for a 100% improved performance.
