North West Flames stay in division 1 of Telkom Netball League

The Flames end in fifth place this season, which can be seen as a disappointment in missing the semi-final places, after qualifying in previous years.

The North West Flames managed to secure their spot in the Telkom Netball League division 1 with a  46-42 win in the 5th/6th place match against the Kingdom Stars from KZN on Sunday, 25 October.

The young team under Dr Elsje Jordaan’s tutelage managed to win a close encounter after the match ended level 34-34 at full time. Extra-time had to be played and the ladies from North West managed to grab the vital win. Didintle Keebine, Caitlinn Rousseau and Elsunet du Plessis all put on good performances for the Flames against tough opposition on the day. The Kingdom Stars will now play the Eastern Cape Aloes in the promotion/relegation match for next season.
