Here are the 16 nations that will grace Potch at the 2021 Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup

Argentina – Las Leoncitas - won the last edition of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup staged in 2016 in Chile.

It is official! The 16 nations that will compete at the FIH 2021 Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup in Potchefstroom from 5-16 December, has been decided.

According to the Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) Australia and New Zealand, who both initially qualified to compete will not be able to attend due to COVID-related travel restrictions.

Argentina (current champions) and Ireland will now take their place for the tournament in Potchefstroom.

“The Junior representatives of the Tokyo 2020 silver medalists and of the 2018 FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup finalists have been selected as they currently are the next best ranked nations – according to the FIH World Rankings for senior teams – among those not having qualified,” stated the FIH on its official website. Argentina – Las Leoncitas – won the last edition of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup staged in 2016 in Chile.

  • Zimbabwe (Africa)
  • Republic of Korea, Japan, India (Asia)
