
The Wohnen/Top Paints NW Club Cricket Premier League was in full swing again on Saturday, 13 November, with some impressive team and individual displays catching the eye.
Potch Dorp 1 easily defeated Ikageng by nine wickets at the Witrand Oval. Ikageng could only manage 104 all out in 42.1 overs.

JP le Roux took 3/18 in six overs with Van Zyl Smit taking 2/21 in 10 overs. Smit then lashed out with the willow, scoring 78* (47) to lead Dorp to an easy win. Another top performer this week was Ibbies’ double centurion, Jared Fuchs, who scored a massive 215 in a total of 415/5 against Mahikeng.
Mahikeng could only manage 166 all out with Bathabile Masigo playing a lone hand of 72 (64). NWU 1 also had an easy time of it against NWU Taurus with a seven-wicket victory, thanks to top knocks from Eben Botha (91 from 84) and captain, Chris Britz with an unbeaten 90 from 108 balls.

Taurus batted first and scored 228 all out with Theuns Helmuth’s 56 (73) and Clayton Tait’s 42 (65) taking them to a respectable score. The NWU 1s showed their class in the chase, reaching the target with more than 10 overs to spare.
Ibbies are still on top of the table, unbeaten after six games on 28 points. Their closest rival is Potch Dorp 1, which is second on 20 points and Impala Precrete third on 19 points, but with a game in hand.
Potch Dorp 1 and Impala Precrete will battle for a second spot at the Witrand Oval this Saturday, 20 November. It promises to be the clash of the weekend. Table-topping Ibbies takes on NWU Colts at the Soccer Oval, while NWU 1 will want to continue their momentum against Potch Dorp 2 at the Ibbies’ Oval. All the matches start at 10:00.
