Great Brick Run is back this January

This year will also see a venue change to the Snowflake Building for the start and entry of this prestigious and exciting event.

The always well attended and popular Great Brick Run, hosted by Bert’s Bricks Athletics Club, will once again take place this year on Saturday, 22 January after last year’s event was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic.

This year will also see a venue change to the Snowflake Building for the start and entry of this prestigious and exciting event.

21.1 km, 10km and 5km races will be at the order of the day. The 21.1km race will start at 06:15, the 10km race at 06:30 and the 5km race at 06:45.

One of the unique elements of this race are that athletes can run with a brick in their hand in the 21.1km race. The first 100 athletes to complete this race with a brick will get a six pack of beer at the finish line.

The entry fees are as follows:

21.1km – R 130

10km – R 80

5km – R 40

Race day entries start at 05:00 at the venue. A temporary license fee of R40 will also be applicable to athletes without a license.
