Lizelle Lee nominated for two prestigious ICC awards after stellar 2021

The North West Dragons and Proteas Women star batter, Lizelle Lee, is in line to receive one of cricket’s top prizes.

Lee has been nominated for two International Cricket Council (ICC) awards for the 2021 season namely the Women’s Cricketer of the Year and the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year.

This opening batter had an outstanding season on the international front scoring a total of 1079 runs for the Proteas at a strike rate of 92.45.

She was also the leading run scorer in ODI’s with 632 runs in 11 innings at an astounding average of 90.28. She also complied her highest score of 132* this year.

Lee will compete for this prestigious honour against the likes of England’s Tammy Beaumont, Ireland’s Gaby Lewis and Smriti Mandhana of India.

The winner will be announced on 23 January.
