Argentina and Korea through to last 8 at Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup

Argentina will now face either Germany or India in the quarter-final on Friday. 

Argentina showed this morning (Tuesday, 5 April) why they are one of the teams to keep a close eye on after dispatching South American rivals, Uruguay 4-0 at the NWU Astrotuf. Goals from Sol Pagella, Valentina Raposo, Maria Adorno and Catalina Andrade secured the win for the ladies in light pink.

They are now still unbeaten and have not yet conceded a goal, scoring 14 goals in the process after 3 matches. Argentina will now face either Germany or India in the quarter-final on Friday. Korea also qualified for the quarter-final by the skin of their teeth, despite losing to Austria 1-0.

Austria’s Helene Herzog scored her side’s winning goal. Korea, Uruguay and Austria all ended the pool phase on 3 points, but Korea had the better goal difference.
