The Dragons ended their CSA T20 Challenge campaign on a high note with a 22-run win against the Knights this afternoon at the JB Marks Oval thanks to meaningful contributions from two Potchefstroom Gimnasium old boys, Caleb Seleka and Duan Jansen.
Seleka took 3/14 in four overs with superbly controlled leg spin, whilst Jansen’s whirlwind knock of 39 (15) ensured the NW Dragons made a competitive total of 154/6. Captain, Heino Kuhn 50 (47) also hit his second fifty of the tournament.
The Knights crumbled under the pressure of the fading light, imminent rain and the added pressure of getting a win to secure a semi-final spot. Renaldo Meyer (3/26) was also excellent with the ball for the Dragons hitting great lengths.

They were eventually bowled out for 132, even though Migael Pretorius (36 off 15) tried to single handedly keep them in the game with a couple of lusty blows of Senuran Muthusamy.
Muthusamy eventually keep his cool, pitching the ball wider to induce a mistimed stroke that Hardus Coetzer took to ensure the Dragons getting on the winning end for the second time this tournament.
“We had to give the local supporters a win in our last match. There were some tough times during the tournament, but the guys showed guts today, stood up and played well. Hopefully we can do a better job in the upcoming four day and one day campaigns,” stated Kuhn post match.
The Dragons’ only wins of the competition came against the Lions (4 wickets) and Knights (22 runs) with five defeats in the middle of the competition ending their semi-final hopes.

This win was important in the general context for the Dragons, who pick up one valuable log point for finishing second last (seventh) on the table.
The relegation battle will be one the Dragons will hope to avoid with more clinical performances in the One Day and Four Day competitions this season.
* The semi-finals are scheduled to take place tomorrow (Wednesday, 2 November at 14:30 and 18:00) with the Titans likely to take on the Knights and the Dolphins up against the Boland Rocks.
