New exciting sponsorship for North West Dragons women

The aim of this partnerships is to grow the support for women's sport and make sure that these talented ladies get the best backing possible for the season ahead.

The North West Dragons women will take to the cricket field in brand new kit thanks to the new title sponsor, Glencore.

North West Cricket unveiled Glencore as the new title sponsor for the North West Dragons Women at the J.B. Marks Oval on Tuesday, 21 March.

It was a fitting occasion for this major announcement and showcases the intent to promote women’s cricket and take it to the next level. Glencore is a successful mining company operating out of Rustenburg.

The aim of this partnership is to grow the support for women’s sport and make sure that these talented ladies get the best backing possible for the season ahead.
This partnership is currently a one year deal.

“We are grateful to have Glencore on board as a title sponsor, which will especially help to produce future cricketing stars for the North West Dragons women. The sponsorship will help to grow the pipeline of young players and we are thankful for the investment of Glencore in women’s cricket,” stated NW Cricket acting CEO, Ismail Minty.

The Dragons Women has been one of the top sides in the country winning numerous championships for the past couple of seasons. They have also produced Proteas of outstanding quality and currently have SA stars, Masabata Klaas and Anneke Bosch in their ranks, alongside a host of talented youngsters ready to take their cricket to the next level.

North West Cricket also recently hosted the u.19 T20 Women’s Cricket World Cup successfully in Potchefstroom, which showcased the continued growth and impact of the women’s cricket in the province.

SA u.19 players, Nthabiseng Nini, Elandri Janse van Rensburg and Anica Swart are all products of North West Cricket.
