North West Cricket honoured their top performing cricketers, coaches, scorers and umpires at the 2022/23 awards function on Friday, 26 May at the Snowflake Building.

Excellence was on display for the entire evening as the cream of the crop walked on stage to receive their awards for fine displays throughout the season.

The North West Dragons senior men’s team managed to stay up in division 1 this past season and will look to build on their performances for the season ahead. Lesego Senokwane was named as the NW Cricket Men’s Player of the Season. This was the second time he has received this honour after also winning this award in the 19/20 season. Senokwane was one of the most consistent batsmen in all three formats this past season. He also won the One Day Batter and 4-day Batter of the Year awards.

The shining stars for the Glencore NW Dragons women were Izel Cilliers, who scooped the top prize as the Players Player of the Year and Evodia Yekile who won the Player of the Year award. Cilliers was named as the T20 and One Day Batter of the Year. Cilliers was in scintillating form this past season cementing her place at the top of the order. Yekile was a constant threat with her spin bowling and duly took the One Day Bowler of the Year award as well.
