President Pretorius gears up for first road race

There will be a 10 km timed race and a 5 km fun run for runners of all ages.

Laerskool President Pretorius is hosting their first 10 km road race on Saturday, 14 October, and it promises to be a fun-filled day of road running.

There will be a 10 km timed race and a 5 km fun run, which will take place under the rules of Athletics Central North West (ACNW) and Athletics South Africa (ASA).

The organising team of the President Pretorius road race is filled with excitement for their first road race on Saturday, 14 October. From left to right are Sunel de Beer, Surina Potgieter, JJ Viljoen, Maryke Viljoen, Anica Morelli and Rinda van Staden (Ockie de Kock was absent).

The route will start at President Pretorius (40 Peter Mokaba Street) and will be a 5 km double lap route that will include a lap on the iconic Kenneth McArthur stadium to look forward to. There will be two water points on the route and food stalls and refreshments afterwards.

The first 100 finishers in the 5 km race will receive medals. Late entries can also be completed on race day. The 10 km race starts at 07:00, with the 5 km fun run beginning at 07:10. Entry fees: 10 km – R120. (temporary licence will cost R50) 5 km – R70.
