Riaan Venter Tennis Academy players rack up trophies

Jahnie van Zyl, a 14-year-old at Potchefstroom Gimnasium, ended her stellar year with another trophy when she achieved a runner-up position at the under 18 J30 Winelands ITF Week 2 in Stellenbosch.

Three top tennis players of the Potchefstroom-based Riaan Venter Tennis Academy (RVTA) showcased their skills at various world ITF tournaments.

Jahnie van Zyl, a 14-year-old at Potchefstroom Gimnasium, ended her stellar year with another trophy when she achieved a runner-up position at the under 18 J30 Winelands ITF Week 2 in Stellenbosch. This is a terrific achievement, considering she had to play against tennis players much older and experienced than herself. It has been a brilliant year for Van Zyl who not only tops the Africa ranking in her age group, but also gained experience overseas during tournaments throughout Europe.

Michael Bell and doubles partner Borris Alexander also achieved the runner-up position in the doubles category at the J30 Winelands ITF Week 2 in Stellenbosch.

Kaitlyn Ramduth also continued her terrific form when she clinched her first doubles title with a score of 6–2; 7-5 at the J60 ITF in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The Academy will look to make 2024 another stellar year.
